1 Hurt In Late Night Ambulette Crash

COPIAGUE, NY - A crash between a sedan and an ambulette left one person injured late Saturday night at Maple Court and South Strong Avenue.

Just after 11:30PM, Suffolk County Police and the Copiague Fire Department responded to a crash between a sedan and an ambulette in the intersection of Maple Court and South Strong Avenue in Copiague, New York.

Initial reports said that there was at least one person trapped inside a vehicle immediately following the collision in the intersection that’s on the border of Lindenhurst and Copiague. First responders arrived on scene and confirmed that there was nobody trapped inside either vehicle involved.

Firefighters from the Copiague Fire Department used water to wet down the smoking sedan’s engine compartment to prevent a fire from sparking.

One person was transported to a local area hospital following the crash. It is unknown what the extent of the victim’s injuries are at the time of publication.
