Late Night Fire Damages Long Island Barn

The Syosset Fire Department was called for a report of a barn fire on Convent Road in Syosset, New York late last night.

Fire crews responded to Convent Road just before 10PM Sunday night for a report of a barn on fire, creating heavy smoke in the area. After arriving on the scene, flames were seen erupting from the roof of the structure. Crews worked quickly to attempt to save the structure.

The fire department knocked down the chimney that was attached to the structure in an effort to prevent further spread of flames trapped on the inside.

The fire was placed under control in just under an hour. There have been no injuries reported in this incident.
