Garden City Bank Robbery Being Investigated

GARDEN CITY, NY - Nassau County Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred early Monday morning at the People’s United Bank in Garden City, New York.

Police say an unidentified man entered the bank at 106 7th Street and approached a teller at 9:56AM. That’s when he handed the teller a note demanding money. The teller complied and the suspect fled from the bank with an unknown amount of money.

Investigators say that there were six employees in the bank at the time of the robbery and no customers. No injuries were reported.

Police describe the suspect as a male white, 40-50 years old, 6’0” tall, with a thin build. The suspect was wearing a black jacket and blue jeans at the time of the robbery.
