Driver Charged With Hit and Run, DWI After Hitting Bicyclist

A bicyclist riding his bike in a Bablyon Village parking lot was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene, and led to a driver being charged with DWI. The collision happened around 4:40pm on Locust Avenue in the baseball field parking lot.

Suffolk County Police identified the driver of the vehicle that fled as Michele Delpezza, 49, of Deer Park. Delpezza was arrested shortly after the incident, where she was arrested on charges of DWI.

The bicyclist was riding his bike in the lot when he was hit by the 2019 Chevrolet Trax. That vehicle fled and returned to the scene of the collision about a half hour later with another individual driving the vehicle, according to Suffolk County Police officials.

The bicyclist was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in a serious but non-life-threatening condition.

Delpezza was charged with DWI and leaving the scene of an accident with serious injury.
