A two alarm fire ripped through an abandoned warehouse in Stapleton Tuesday Afternoon.

The FDNY transmitted the all hands response for a structure fire at about 3pm Tuesday afternoon just after responding to a structure fire in an abandoned warehouse within the quarters of FDNY Marine 9.

The fire was upgraded to a second alarm as FDNY units worked to locate a water source due to hydrants on Front Street being inoperable.

A 911 caller stated that they allegedly saw a group of people lighting fires nearby.

The fire was placed under control in about 2 hours by the FDNY. Officials are currently still investigating the cause of the fire at this time.
